A local provider may offer stronger relationships, flexibility and worker continuity. A national provider may offer broader services, systems and backup capacity. Choose according to the performance of the actual local team, not the size or familiarity of the brand.

Yes. You can speak with providers, ask questions and request written information before entering a service agreement.
A Support at Home service agreement should clearly state the services, complete prices, contribution and payment arrangements, rights, complaints process, cancellation rules, price-change conditions and how either party may end the agreement. Do not sign until all important promises, charges and conditions are recorded in writing.
You can ask a provider to negotiate, but most will not discount standard recurring services. Your greater leverage is comparing providers and choosing one whose published prices, minimum visits and service quality offer better overall value.

You keep your Support at Home approval and funding when you change providers. Arrange the new provider and transfer dates carefully so your budget and essential services move without interruption.
A provider cannot charge you simply for leaving. You may still need to pay legitimate charges for services already delivered before the agreed exit date.
