Can a Support at Home provider charge an exit fee?
A provider cannot charge you simply for leaving. You may still need to pay legitimate charges for services already delivered before the agreed exit date.

Key points
- No. A provider cannot charge an exit amount when you leave.
- Local capacity and worker continuity matter as much as branding.
- Important prices and conditions should be in writing before services start.
No.
You can change Support at Home providers at any time, and your outgoing provider cannot charge an exit amount or transfer fee.
The provider may still issue a final invoice for:
services delivered before the agreed exit date
participant contributions still owing
valid cancellation charges already permitted under the service agreement.
These are not exit fees.
You should agree on an exit date with the current provider and check any notice conditions in the service agreement. The provider must continue delivering agreed services until that date, finalise its claims and issue a final monthly statement.
Any fees paid in advance should be refunded, and eligible remaining funding transfers to the new provider.
